On two special excursions this week, we’ll discover the Swedish winter landscape in a truly memorable way while getting to know the people of the North better.
An unforgettable highlight of this trip is the dog sled ride through the snow-covered forests of the North. You’ll ride in pairs and take turns with your own dog team: while one person sits in the sled, the other steers the dogs. Feel the power and enthusiasm of the huskies as you glide through the winter landscape. The approximately 2.5-hour tour includes homemade fika, appropriate outerwear (boots, pants, jacket, hat, and mittens), as well as plenty of time to get acquainted with the dogs.
Another special highlight is a visit to a Sami family and their reindeer. You’ll gain authentic insights into the traditional way of life of this indigenous people and get up close to the animals. Afterward, you’ll have the opportunity to spend time in Luleå—explore the winter coastal town on your own, perhaps with a walk or by traditional kick sled on the famous ice roads.
This active winter week is rounded out and enriched with two daily yoga sessions. Mindful movement unites body and mind, allowing your thoughts to relax as well. At your own pace, you’ll flow through soothing exercises (asanas) that strengthen us and make us more flexible. Breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation deepen the yoga practice.
Program changes are subject to change; the schedule for excursions will be determined on-site. Depending on group size, activities will take place in two to three groups on a rotating basis. Additional excursions can be booked on-site.
