Acro Yoga, YUA® (a partner acrobatics practice in which one person is held and relaxes weightlessly in the air), Thai massage, and meditation—accompanied by campfires, cooking together, and a warm, small group. For absolute beginners and people with up to about three years of Acro Yoga experience.
Detailed description:
At the end of December, we’ll spend 6 days at the Hirtenkate Wulfsahl, a beautifully restored half-timbered house made of clay right in the heart of the Wendland region. A warm practice space overlooking the nature reserve, a cozy kitchen, a small movie theater in the attic, a fire pit in the garden, and a warm, small group—this is how you’ll ring out the old year and consciously start the new one.
The retreat is designed for absolute beginners and people with up to about three years of Acro Yoga experience. The focus is on 5–6 hours of practice each day: Acro Yoga in the morning, YUA® (a partner acrobatics practice in which one person is held and relaxes weightlessly in the air), and Thai massage in the afternoon, rounded out by guided meditations.
In the mornings, fresh rolls are baked and we enjoy breakfast together. In the evenings, the group takes turns cooking together—using certified organic, regional ingredients, with vegetarian and vegan options available. The retreat is alcohol-free.
Accommodations are in cozy double rooms in the house. Single rooms are available upon request and for an additional fee.
The retreat is led by Ralph Buse, founder of the Center Of Gravity Hamburg—Europe’s first Acro Yoga center.

BookWe use certified organic ingredients from the region (whenever possible).
Morning: In the morning, we serve fresh, homemade rolls and porridge—with all the trimmings. You’ll find a generously set breakfast table in the dining room, which, thankfully, can be stocked by the kitchen through a serving hatch.
Lunch: At lunchtime, everyone is free to go to the refrigerators and quickly cook something, reheat a meal, snack on vegetables or fruit, or make a sandwich.
Evening: In the evening, small, rotating groups prepare hearty, vegetarian meals—with vegan options available upon request.
Drinks: All kinds of drinks are available: tea, coffee, juices, etc. Together, we enjoy an alcohol-free time.
Five to six hours of practice a day—structured, but with room to breathe.
The morning begins with an optional guided meditation. After breakfast together, the first session begins: three hours of Acro Yoga, tailored to the group’s level, with relaxation at the end. Lunchtime is yours—take a walk along the dike, nap, or just do nothing.
In the afternoon, the second session follows: Acro Yoga again, then YUA® or Thai massage, concluding with meditation. After dinner together, the evening is open—campfire, movie on the big screen, games, conversations, or simply silence.
A sample day:
Morning (7:15–7:45)
Whatever you prefer: join the 30-minute guided meditation, start preparing breakfast, enjoy your first cup of coffee, or just sleep in.
Breakfast (8:00–10:30)
Everyone meets in the kitchen to prepare breakfast (oatmeal, rolls, homemade smoothies…), then we enjoy a hearty breakfast together.
Class Session I (10:30–1:30 p.m.)
The first guided Acro Yoga session of the day. Never done this before? Great—you’re more than welcome. But even if you have up to 3 years of experience, you’ll find something new here. Fly and carry someone, fall (but gently & safely), laugh, and experience a sense of community.
Lunch Break (1:30 PM–4:00 PM)
Have a bite to eat, relax, take a walk along the dike or down to the Elbe, take a nap, or do whatever makes you feel good. If you’re not done yet, you’re of course welcome to keep jamming in the Acro Yoga room (= practicing freely with others).
Class Session II (4:00–6:00 p.m.)
The second session is tailored to the group’s prevailing mood and ranges from high-energy fun (Acro Yoga) to calm and gentle (YUA® or Thai massage) to quiet (meditation).
Dinner (6:00 PM–8:30 PM)
A small, rotating group meets in the kitchen to prepare dinner. Others rest, go for a walk, or just do nothing. We all gather around the large table for dinner, and this is often when we share the highlights of the day.
Evening (starting at 8:30 p.m.)
Anyone who’s interested can join us for a movie night upstairs under the roof (projector and screen)—we choose the movie together. Those who’d like to can jam for a while, meditate, or gather around a cozy campfire outside.
You’re responsible for arranging your own travel to and from the event. However, the group is usually very interested in advance in who’s traveling from where and how; one person or another might ask for a ride, and so—as if by magic—a group effort to coordinate travel emerges.
Check-in on the first day is from 2:00 p.m., and check-out on the last day is by 12:00 p.m.
