Summary

We start on Saturday in Marrakesh. We will stay overnight in a beautiful riad in the middle of the medina and meet in the evening on the roof terrace to get in the mood for this journey together and get to know each other. On Sunday, we will start early and drive through the fascinating landscapes of the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountains to our starting point in M'Hamid on the edge of the Sahara. There we will meet our local guides, who will accompany us through the desert, lead the camels, and prepare incredibly delicious meals for us. We will spend the next 5 days traveling through the Sahara. We will start the day with yoga at sunrise, followed by breakfast. Well fortified, we will then hike for about 3.5 hours through fascinating landscapes to our next campsite. The dromedaries carry our luggage and while we are on the move, marveling at the silence around us, our camp for the night is already being prepared at a new, wonderful location. Tea, nuts, and a delicious fresh lunch await us as soon as we arrive. Shade is already provided and after lunch we can rest a little, read, and have some time to ourselves.
In the late afternoon, we meet again in the dunes for yoga and meditation, and afterwards we enjoy the magic of the sunset together in the vastness of the desert. The evening ends with a campfire and an excellent, freshly prepared dinner. Every evening, you can choose whether to spend the night in a tent or under the stars.

After 5 days and nights of immersing ourselves in the desert, we return to Marrakesh. We end our trip back at the riad, meeting there on Saturday morning for a final round and breakfast together on the roof terrace, before everyone heads home or stays on for another night or two in Marrakesh.

These days in the desert, in the silence of the landscape, under the vastness of the starry sky, without cell phone reception and the distractions of everyday life, allow us to immerse ourselves deeply in our connection to nature and to ourselves.

Accommodation

We will spend the first and last nights in a traditional riad in the medina of Marrakesh in shared rooms. Single rooms can be booked (approx. €30 per night). We will spend five nights in tents or under the open sky (everyone can choose each night) in the Sahara. Every day in a new, beautifully chosen location. The tent camp will already be set up by the guides when we arrive, so we can rest in the shade right away. Our luggage will be carried by dromedaries. Our tent camp consists of a kitchen tent and several tents for sleeping. However, the tents often remain empty because the starry sky is so overwhelming that it is difficult to take your eyes off it.

Catering

Apart from dinner in Marrakesh and breakfast on the day of travel, all meals are included. Water and tea in the desert are also included. During our time in the desert, we will be accompanied by a chef who will prepare wonderful meals for us. Always fresh, vegetarian, vegan, or other special requests available on request.

sequence

The itinerary and times are examples. In Morocco, things move at a slightly different pace, so minor changes are possible at any time. Day 1 (Saturday) – Individual arrival in Marrakesh Our program starts with a get-together and introduction on the rooftop terrace of the riad in the evening.
If desired, we can have dinner together (not included) and/or you can explore the souk of Marrakesh on your own. Day 2 - Drive to the desert Departure at around 6:30 a.m. - We will be picked up and drive through the fascinating landscapes of the Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountains to the edge of the desert. Breaks for breakfast, lunch (included), photo stops, etc. are of course planned, and we can already gain some insights into this fascinating country along the way. Arrival in M'Hamid - where we meet our local guides. Our luggage is loaded onto the dromedaries and we start our first short hike into the desert to our first camp.
In a yoga session between the dunes, we shake off the journey and admire our first sunset in the desert. After dinner around the campfire, everyone chooses where to sleep – in one of the tents or under the starry sky. Days 3-6 Immersion in the desert
We start the day with a yoga session at sunrise. Meanwhile, the cook prepares our breakfast, and while we eat, the tents are taken down and the dromedaries loaded. Then we set off on our daily hike to the new campsite. Roughly estimated (we don't need watches there) from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On the way, we take a break to refill our water bottles and recharge our batteries with fruit and dates. Anyone who is tired can sit on one of the dromedaries traveling with us. At the new campsite, the camp is already set up, and we can rest in the shade and are welcomed with tea, nuts, and cookies. A fresh lunch (with lots of fruit and vegetables) will be served. Afterwards, there will be time to read, rest, and explore the area. Time for yourself. In the late afternoon, we will meet for a gentle yoga session (approx. 90 minutes), which we will plan so that we can watch the sunset afterwards. Yoga is often complemented by meditation.
The evening ends with a campfire and dinner accompanied by stories and songs – until everyone crawls into their sleeping bags – with a view of the fabulous starry sky or in their tents. Day 7 – Back to Marrakesh After a final night in the desert, we take a short hike back to the place where our transfer is waiting for us. We begin our return journey to Marrakech – as the landscape glides past us, we have some time to digest our many impressions. We plan the evening together. In a large group, in smaller groups or individually, we can explore the souk, find great locations for a final dinner, buy souvenirs, etc.

Day 8 – Conclusion and individual journey home or extension Before breakfast, we meet again on the roof terrace. We reflect on the trip, conclude it together, and enjoy a final breakfast together before saying goodbye.

Arrival

Everyone is responsible for organizing their own travel arrangements. Of course, we are happy to assist. There will also be an opportunity to get to know the other participants online in advance and possibly organize joint travel arrangements.
