Accommodation

Two of our four rooms are located on the south-east side and have a balcony, while the other two rooms face north-west.
There are two single rooms, one room with double cabins and one room with three cabins (similar to Japanese centers), whereby each of our participants has a room to themselves.

Catering

We generally cook vegetarian dishes using mainly fresh, organic ingredients. Herbs from nature refine the dishes and decorate them to boot (depending on the season). If you have any special requests or cannot tolerate certain dishes, we will be happy to take this into consideration. You are also in good hands with us if you have gluten and/or lactose intolerances or other allergies.

sequence

The retreat begins on the first evening, after dinner.
After a detailed introductory talk with all participants, during which you can also ask extensive questions, the retreat is gong in and you begin your practice. After the first or second "mensetsu" (=short conversation, interview), your first evening gong heralds the night's rest.
The next morning, the same gong will gently wake you up - now is the time to wake up calmly, get up and continue with your exercise.
After the first call, you will be served breakfast.
During the morning, the gong will call you to a 15-minute working meditation.
You then practise meditative walking: You get dressed, join a line and are led slowly through less frequented woods. You practise your introspection at your own pace.
Depending on the weather, lunch will be taken en route or served in your room.
During the course of the day you will receive around 9 mensetsus.
At the end of the week, you will have practiced for around 90 hours and received around 65 conversations.
"Practice" in our case means that you practise Naikan (= introspection). This is a form of self-awareness in which you work with three questions, each of which is applied to the most important people in your life. You will learn the details in the introductory talk.

Arrival

We are happy to pick you up from the nearest train station in Spiegelau for a voluntary donation or from the nearest Munich airport for an extra charge of €150.
And of course we will also bring you back on the day of departure...
