BookAll meals at the Mountain Retreat Center are vegetarian and vegan. The most important meal of the day—at least according to the Chinese—is breakfast. That’s why we also place special emphasis on a good, healthy breakfast—which always includes warm porridge. For lunch, you’ll enjoy soup, bread, and spreads, and in the evening, you’ll be treated to a delicious buffet featuring salad, creative vegetarian and vegan main courses, and dessert. Everything is freshly prepared and, whenever possible, made with seasonal ingredients. We can accommodate food intolerances with advance notice.
The mountains invite you to let your gaze wander and clear your mind. Step by step, you’ll leave everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the diverse landscape surrounding the Spitzstein and the Chiemgau Alps. Together with Rita Zwettler, who combines her many years of experience in yoga with her passion for the region, you’ll experience hikes that focus not on athletic feats but on the mindful act of being on the trail.
The hikes take you along alpine trails, through forests, and up to scenic viewpoints. Along the way, there’s always time to pause, take in the mountain scenery, and enjoy the special atmosphere of nature. Depending on the route, the hikes cover about 8 to 15 kilometers and 400 to 800 meters of elevation gain, and are adapted to the group’s collective pace.
The daily yoga sessions provide the ideal balance. In the morning, gentle exercises prepare the body for the hike, loosen up joints and muscles, and provide a mindful start to the day. In the evening, the focus is on recovery. Stretching and relaxing yoga sessions release tension, promote rest, and allow the day’s experiences to fade away peacefully.
The combination of movement and relaxation often has an effect that lasts well beyond the retreat. While hiking clears the mind and opens up new perspectives, yoga helps you become more aware of your own body and draw new strength. This creates a retreat where activity and relaxation naturally intertwine.
The retreat is rounded out by the vegetarian and vegan full-board meals at the Mountain Retreat Center, as well as the warm atmosphere within the group. There’s plenty of time for conversations, quiet moments, or simply to enjoy the impressive mountain landscape of the Chiemgau region.

The program begins at 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival and ends on the day of departure after the yoga session and a group breakfast.
Traveling by Car
Take the A8 highway (coming from Munich or Salzburg) and exit at Frasdorf, then head toward Aschau; from there, it’s a 15-minute drive to Sachrang.
Traveling by Train
Take the train or bus to Aschau or Prien im Chiemgau. From there, you can reach Sachrang either by bus (limited service) or by taxi.
Taxi fare from Aschau to the Mountain Retreat Center: approx. €35
