Messengers of Joy and Wretches I: Year-End Series in the Vulkaneifel
Daun, Germany
$639 / 3 Days
The days between Christmas and New Year’s—a wonderful time for quiet and reflection. Take a moment to pause in the beautiful setting of our healing retreat in the Vulkaneifel. Look back on the year that is coming to a close, and let your memories and thoughts flow through your mind once more. Embark on an inner journey; discover things that should have been let go of long ago, but also treasures that still lie untapped and have long been waiting to be realized.
We shape our inner journey—with color, with clay, with found objects. We paint, write, compose, and glue.
In a solemn rite of passage, we bid farewell to the things we no longer wish to hold onto, thereby creating space for the new, which may now find a place in our lives.
This program is offered both as one-on-one sessions and in small groups of up to 6 people and lasts 15 hours.
For those who prefer a more intensive experience—the “Stufen” workshop also takes place that same week. Inspired by Hermann Hesse, we’ll explore the joy of writing.

My clients usually find their own accommodations in the surrounding area. This is simply because everyone has different preferences. Some prefer their own apartment, while others might just want a simple room. Both options are available in the immediate vicinity.
But perhaps you’d prefer a complete package for your retreat? Our Heilhof also offers guest rooms. If available, you’re welcome to stay with us. The guest rooms are located in the adjacent building. They have their own entrance and access to the garden. You’ll share the kitchen and bathroom with your roommates. Please feel free to talk to me about this.
Meals are not included, as everyone’s needs vary greatly. You decide for yourself what’s best for you. Generally, you can prepare your own meals at your accommodations—either you have your own kitchen or at least a place to cook, or there are options that include breakfast or even an on-site restaurant. In Daun, there are large supermarkets, bars, and restaurants.

On your own transportation. If you’d like to explore the area a bit outside of the retreat program or head to more distant starting points for hikes or walks, we recommend traveling by car.
Traveling by train: The Gerolstein train station is 14 km away from us. From there, you can reach us by bus (advance reservation by phone required) or by taxi. If the timing works out, we can also arrange a pickup.
You may also want to consider renting a car. Although there are bus connections, the buses don’t run very often, and traveling from village to village often requires transferring. A car gives you more flexibility, allowing you to make much better use of your free time. If you book the car in advance, it will be waiting for you at the airport, and you can drive straight to your accommodation.
