During these four days, we’ll focus our attention on ourselves—our bodies, our sensations, and our breath. Together, we’ll practice performing movements mindfully and, in doing so, learn to be fully present in the moment. What begins as a physical experience can gradually be applied to every situation in daily life. Let yourself be enchanted by the powerful energy of the Chiemgau Alps and be fully present.

BookFull board at the Mountain Retreat Center is vegetarian and vegan. The most important meal of the day—at least according to the Chinese—is breakfast. That’s why we, too, place special emphasis on a good, healthy breakfast—always including warm porridge. For lunch, you’ll enjoy soup, bread, and spreads, and in the evening, you’ll be treated to a delicious buffet featuring salad, creative vegetarian and vegan main courses, and dessert. Everything is freshly prepared and, whenever possible, made with seasonal ingredients. We can accommodate food intolerances with advance notice.
Your day begins with “Yoga of Energy.” The morning yoga class includes gentle and invigorating karanas (sequences of movements) that help you find a flow at your own pace—and then transitions into a powerful yet light holding of the asanas.
Pranayama, specific breathing techniques, refines your mindfulness and awareness. This leads to a gradual settling into stillness, guided by practical insights from yoga philosophy, leading toward meditation.
Yoga of Energy means observing and perceiving the body, sensations, and the breath—directing energy. Where attention is, energy flows.
“There is a world of difference between a movement performed mechanically and the same movement performed with full awareness.”
Roger Clerc, founder of Yoga of Energy
The afternoon program begins with an hour of Pilates training.
Through the targeted combination of strength and stretching exercises, the Pilates training program primarily targets your abdominal and back muscles as well as the segmental mobility of your spine. Through Pilates exercises, you’ll develop a strong core, increase your muscle elasticity, and improve your posture.
If you have problems with joints or intervertebral discs, you’ll find Pilates to be an ideal and gentle form of exercise. Detailed movement instructions and varying levels of difficulty allow all participants to find exercises suited to their fitness level. Your program instructor, Sabine, designs the Pilates exercises—using balls or Thera-Bands—to be both intense and varied.
What makes Pilates special:
- Effective and targeted strengthening of the deep muscles
- Relaxed shoulders through optimization of scapular position
- Toning of the abdomen and waist
- Reduction of posture-related tension headaches
- Segmental (section-by-section) mobilization of the spine
- Targeting the fascia
- Improved posture
- Harmonization of neuromuscular imbalances
- Overall increase in flexibility and range of motion
The Pilates session is followed by a relaxation segment featuring Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, or meditation—let yourself be surprised.
