Basenfasten is milder; alkaline vegetables, fruit and herbs are eaten while acid-formers like coffee, sugar, meat and white flour are left out, so real meals remain on the table. Which variant fits depends on how much restriction you want, how much medical supervision you need and whether your goal is weight, metabolism or simply a break from everyday life.

The German detox offering covers a wide range. How long should a detox retreat last?
The typical detox-week duration in Germany is six to ten days, depending on method and previous experience. For classic Buchinger Heilfasten, seven to ten days is standard, because the body needs two to three days to adapt and the noticeable clarity only sets in from day four. A weekend detox of two to three days is a good taste-tester but does not replace a real fasting cure; it works more as a deliberate pause. When is the best time for a detox retreat in Germany?
