Giant kites circling over the lake - this image can be seen more and more often. The reason is the boom in the sport of kitesurfing. This trend is relatively new, but experts estimate that half a million people now regularly take to the wind in this way. The principle: the athlete stands on a board, similar to a surfboard. With a kite in the air, they are pulled across the water. This enables significantly more tricks and jumps than windsurfing. Disadvantage: Kitesurfing is particularly dependent on the wind and weather. In addition, learning this sport takes time and is not easy. But it certainly looks cool.
