Sivananda Yoga

The founder of this form of yoga, Swami Sivananda Saraswati, had one goal: to give people inner peace. He believed that the more peaceful a person is within themselves, the more peaceful their actions and behavior will be. This has an effect on the entire environment. To achieve this, he combined various styles and methods in Sivananda Yoga, which not only strengthen the body and keep it healthy, but also allow the spirituality of yoga philosophy to be integrated into everyday life. Those who get to know this form of yoga while traveling will learn a total of five basic pillars. The asanas (physical exercises), pranayama (breathing exercises), deep relaxation and meditation. Finally, Sattvige, the vegetarian and wholesome diet, which aims to cause as little environmental damage as possible.
