Relaxation Technique Retreats

This recognized method, progressive muscle relaxation, is often used for sleep disorders or muscle stiffness. It involves deliberately tensing certain muscle groups and then relaxing them. The participant mentally goes through the entire body, tensing one muscle group at a time and then relaxing it again. Until the whole body is relaxed. The therapist explains exactly how this is done. Regular repetitions over a longer period of time are necessary to achieve success. A nice side effect of this form of relaxation can be a reduction in pain and generally combating inner restlessness. This method was developed by an American doctor who linked mental illness with muscle tension.
