The sauna originated in Finland and is a wooden room that is heated to a high temperature - usually between 55 and 100 degrees - using a sauna heater. A sauna session of 8-15 minutes is recommended. This is followed by a 15-minute cool-down phase in which you take a cold shower or cool off in a lake, river or snow.
